STORY OF THE AMERICAN CHESTNUT

Loss, Adaption, and Perseverance

The American Chestnut tree was one of the most beloved and beautiful trees that grew from Georgia to Maine. In 1904, a plague swept through the forest killing nearly 4 billion chestnut trees and by 1950, the American Chestnut tree was almost extinct. Today, scientists and conservationists have been working to restore this historical species and they found that despite the disease, the chestnut roots remained intact and are still fighting to reclaim the forest. A few thousand trees are around today and continue to grow with the hope that they will regrow and rebuild the forest. Here at Chestnut, we were inspired by the American Chestnut’s story about loss, adaption and perseverance. We created Chestnut to help families rebuild their communities with the help of our protection plan. We are committed to keeping your payments low while providing fast, reliable protection up to $20,000 moments after a disaster strikes.
